Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

eSIM Observer (“we,” “us”) is operated by eSIM Observer Media Group, MB, a company established in Lithuania, registered address Perkūnkiemio g. 19, Vilnius, LT-12120. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@esim.observer.

We are the data controller for personal data processed through esim.observer within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This policy explains what we process, why, on what legal basis, and what rights you have.

What We Process Today

eSIM Observer is a content site. You can read every article and use every tool on this site without creating an account, and we do not ask you to register, log in, or submit personal information to use it.

1. Server and security logs. Our hosting provider processes technical data (IP address, browser user-agent, requested pages, timestamps) to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure website. Retention: logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

2. Aggregate analytics. We measure page views in aggregate (which pages are read, roughly where traffic comes from) to understand what content is useful. We do not build individual visitor profiles. Where analytics can run without cookies or persistent identifiers, we use that mode.

3. Interactive tools. The Device Compatibility Checker and Travel Data Calculator run in your browser. Your selections (phone model, trip length, usage hours) are used to compute the result and are not transmitted to us as personal data.

4. Telegram bot. If you message our bot (@esim_observer_bot), Telegram provides us your Telegram user ID, username, and message content so the bot can respond. Legal basis: performance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b)). Telegram’s own processing is governed by Telegram’s Privacy Policy. We do not use bot conversations for advertising.

5. Social platforms. Our presence on X is governed by X’s own privacy policy when you interact with us there.

Cookies

We do not currently set cookies for tracking or advertising. If that changes (for example, if we introduce analytics or advertising that requires them), we will show a consent banner before any non-essential cookie is set, with a working “Reject” option that actually prevents the script from loading — not just a notice to adjust your browser settings.

Some articles may contain affiliate links (see our Advertising Disclosure). When you click one, the destination provider may set its own cookies and process your data under its own privacy policy. We receive aggregate commission reports from affiliate programs; these do not identify you to us personally.

International Transfers

Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States). Where that happens, transfers are protected by safeguards recognized under Chapter V GDPR, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority or with the authority of our country of establishment.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly process their personal data.

Changes

We will update this policy as the site evolves (for example, when we launch a newsletter or comparison database accounts) and will change the “last updated” date above whenever we do.
