About eSIM Observer & Our Independent Reviews
eSIM Observer is an independent publication covering the eSIM ecosystem — travel eSIM plan comparisons, device compatibility, industry news, and (as our testing program grows) original performance research. The site is operated by eSIM Observer Media Group, a company established in the European Union, and is not owned by, invested in by, or operationally connected to any eSIM provider, carrier, or aggregator.
What “Independent” Means Here
The word is on our homepage, so it has to be checkable. Concretely:
- We are not a store. We don’t (currently) sell eSIMs; we analyze them. Where we earn affiliate commissions on referrals, every such relationship is disclosed on the page where the link appears — see our Advertising Disclosure.
- Rankings are criteria-driven. Comparison ordering comes from stated, checkable criteria — price, data allowance, validity, value per GB, verified coverage data — never from commercial relationships.
- No pay-to-play. Providers cannot buy placement, reviews, or silence. See our Advertising Disclosure.
Our Sourcing Standards
- Cited and dated. Pricing, compatibility, and performance claims carry a source and a verification date. Device-compatibility entries and data-rate constants in our tools are maintained with source citations and “last verified” dates.
- Tiered sources. News briefs cite primary sources (standards bodies, regulators, carrier and manufacturer announcements) rather than repeating secondhand claims. Provider marketing claims are attributed as such (“Airalo says…”), never repeated as independent fact.
- Honest gaps. Where we don’t yet have verified data — for example, country coverage figures awaiting independent measurement — we label the gap on the page instead of papering over it. You will sometimes see “research queue” notes in our guides; that is deliberate.
- No invented numbers. We do not publish speed-test results, pricing, or compatibility claims we cannot source. When our own performance-testing program launches, its methodology will be published alongside the first results.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix the article and note the correction on the page. Factual correction requests — from readers or providers — are welcome via the contact details on our Privacy Policy page or via @eSIMObserver on X and our Telegram bot.
Who Writes This Site
eSIM Observer is produced by a small editorial team under eSIM Observer Media Group. News briefs are bylined “eSIM Observer Staff”; guides and research carry the same standards regardless of byline.
